COMMANDO - Fuckaholics  | | The new album from these motherfuckers is certainly a step forward from their last production. For me, it sounds direct and with good taste more than ever. This is also the first album recorded with the new vocalist; and I think that he gave a toxic touch to the band, to say something. This mother fucker seems to have roots on punk and hard core music, so the performance in oriented to a more punkish style (just listen to the first section of _Fuckaholic?) I mean, he sings with violence, fury, and also with conviction, and that_s a great difference. As always, the guitar riffs denote influences from American 80_s style, and these guys mix them with twisted melodies, rawness and good technique. They also put some excellent guitar arrangements inside the veins of the songs, like on _The Corpse Collector? which delivers some excellent _Slayerean? stench on the solos. In some sections, drums on this track sounds like a fucking bulldozer, breaking bones. At the end of the CD, they included a couple of live tracks, (one of them is wrong on the track list, it must say _Scarface? instead of _S.B.K?). Although there is a revival of the genre, and apparently they are not making something new (musically speaking), I must say that everything is on its place, and they do with passion and pure steel running through their blood. With this production, these motherfuckers consolidate themselves like one of the most representatives thrash metal bands in the south side of Mexico. Don_t miss them. _ Victor Varas
